We all love Lace Wigs, Braids, Sew In Weaves, Faux Locs, Micro links, Interlocs, and Keratin Tip Hair extensions. All of these are protective hairstyles. These styles allow us to have a gorgeous look without compromising the health of our hair and scalp. Or do they? 

WHY I CREATED THIS PRODUCT:

I have been a hairstylist for over 30 years, working with women with alopecia and hair loss.  During covid, I could not service my clients in person; I used Zoom and Facetime. When we returned to the salon, I noticed many had more hair loss than usual. The new clients I am servicing now are getting younger. I started studying a type of alopecia called Cicatricial Alopecia, and Traction Alopecia, contributed by inflammation and pulling of the scalp. We compromise our hair follicles and scalp at a young age. Excessive pulling, scalp neglect, and improper takedown of the protective style can cause the weakening of the hair follicle. Over time the results have been hair thinning, hair loss, and alopecia.

HOW IT WORKS: 

1. This ground-breaking formula softens the hair by adding moisture and just the right amount of slip
2. It makes it easy to untangle and remove your braids more quickly.
3. Melts the build-up at the base of individual extensions and braid downs. So you will remove only the hair that has shed.
4. Eliminates the pulling of healthy hair from your scalp.
5. Helps to separate the healthy hair from the hair that has shed over the weeks/months you have worn the protective hairstyle.
6. Gives an overall easy comb-out before you shampoo without causing inflammation to the scalp due to excess pulling.

For Braid Downs: Spray on braids before you remove or wash them. Massage in and remove braids starting from the end of the braid and working your way up to the beginning.

For Individual Braids: Cut the braid where the human hair ends. Be very careful not to cut your hair. Working with one braid at a time, spray only the area of the braid where your hair is intertwined up to the root. Massage in with your fingers, unbraid starting from the ends, working your way up to the root until synthetic hair is removed. Gently comb through the hair with a paddle brush to detangle.

For Micro Link Hair Extensions and Keratin Pre-Tipped Hair Extensions: Remove the hair extension first.  Spray Take it Down on the base where the mirco link or keratin bond was, then gently rake through with a retail comb until all shed hair is removed.

Spray more as needed to complete the comb out. Shampoo and condition hair with Prep It! Line.
